Chicos y Mendez
Chicos y Mendez
'Chicos y Mendez' is a Belgian-Peruvian folk-latino project that combines committed poetry and rhythmic sounds. Merging French chanson and Afro-Peruvian music, this group offers its audience a unique musical journey, rooted in social and environmental issues. With an undeniable talent for melody and striking lyrics, 'Chicos y Mendez' is an indispensable reference on the Belgian music scene. {Generated by AI}
VAAGUE
VAAGUE

Surrounded by his own unique android of drums and electronics, Antoine Pierre is widening his already broad musical spectrum quite a bit with VAAGUE. For this brand new solo project, the Brussels based drummer and producer created a collection of samples to fuse organically — and manually! — with his own drum grooves.

From pulsating synths over otherworldly vocal snippets to dark and dreamy droplets of sound: each electronic element is blending in perfectly with Antoine’s live played beats. Sometimes hypnotically captivating, then again thriving on downtempo dub vibes, but always inventive and surprisingly layered: this first collection of tracks presents itself as the colorful gateway into a new and exciting musical universe, which is clearly far from finished.

About ESNS

Each January, ESNS introduces 350 emerging European artists to more than 40,000 music fans and more than 4,000 music industry professionals, including 400 international festivals. During the day, the conference hosts more than 150 panel discussions, interviews, keynotes and much more on pressing issues and the need for social change in the music industry. In the evening, European acts will perform at 40 different venues in the heart of Groningen from Wednesday through Friday. And on Saturday, emerging Dutch artists take center stage during Noorderslag at De Oosterpoort.

ESNS has proven essential in helping new European acts break through into live music scenes across Europe and beyond.

Besides providing a stage for new music, ESNS supports artists by organizing the talent development program ESNS Exchange, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. To celebrate the diversity and ambition of European and Dutch music, the festival also awards several prestigious prizes, including the Music Moves Europe Award, European Festival Award and the Popprijs.
