With support from COLORSxSTUDIOS, known for its highly-curated YouTube channel supported by over 4M fans, Belgium’s YellowStraps are making waves worldwide. Having been titled as “Most Promising Artist” at 2014’s Redbull Elektropedia Awards (BE), the electro-jazz, hip-hop duo went on to collaborate with artists and producers like Tobi Lou, Roméo Elvis, Le Motel, blackwave., ... Comprised of two self-taught brothers, Yvan (vocals) and Alban (guitar and beats), YellowStraps was raised by, and eventually dominated, the Belgian music scene. The duo is a true global act.

The hard work and dedication in creating a refined sound secured YellowStraps a place in festivals like Dour, Pukkelpop and The Great Escape (UK). In addition to COLORSxSTUDIOS, they’ve attracted top international tastemakers including Majestic Casual, Complex, Earmilk, The Sound You Need, Pigeons and Planes, ... Truly transcending both soul and electronic, YellowStraps ability to appeal to fans of both genres allows the duo to carve their own path. Many elements like drum grooves and warm beats and harmonies are found throughout the group’s music and it’s clear that the duo sticks by their ideology of continually challenging themselves.

As exploratory collaborators, there appears to be much flexibility for how YellowStraps will continue to push their project along. Drawing inspiration from artists like Tom Misch, Daniel Caesar, Jordan Rakei, River Tiber, Moonchild, ... YellowStraps are worth following.

Under The Reefs Orchestra
Under The Reefs Orchestra
  • jazzcore

A sonic-minded power trio of obsessive, biting riffs and mists of asymmetrical sonic cycles. Inspired as much by French chamber music of the 19th century as by Jim O’Rourke or Moondog, Under The Reefs Orchestra’s hypnotic music unleashes a cosmic energy and leads the listener to a trance among underwater volcanos.

David Numwami
David Numwami

If you're attuned to the ins and outs of the French pop scene then Brussell-based solo artist David Numwami might be someone you've come across. The musician is ill-afraid to be extravagant and decorative, with complex layers seemingly infinite and dream-like. Numwami is a connoisseur of tone and melody; evoking so much feeling through his fingertips.
